Arthur Davison Rayburn was born in Butler County, Alabama, the son of Henry Rayburn and Martha Weaver.

He had moved with his family to Wakulla County, Florida by 1860. His brother, Ruben W Rayburn (1854-1937), married Sarah Amanda Powell, they buried in Whiddon Lake Cemetery in Wakulla County.

Arthur married Mary H Alligood and together they raised six children. In 1912 they relocated to Gillette, FL.

Mr. Rayburn was fatally injured when struck by an automobile in front of his home on Bay Shore Road in Manatee County on 14 Feb 1925.

"Dave"'s wife, Mary, is buried in this cemetery, along with their sons, Arthur May Rayburn, Leon Napoleon Rayburn, Robert Davison Rayburn; and their daughter, Ola Rayburn Mead. Their daughter, Agnes Lugenia Rayburn Core, is buried in Zion Hill Cemetery in Wakulla County. They also had a daughter, Claudy Rayburn (abt 1889- ? ), burial location unknown.
