Charles C. Durrant, 61, of 840 Highland Blvd. died early Saturday in Bannock Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
He was born May 21, 1914, at Marsh Center to James LeRoy and Elizabeth Ann Baker Durrant and attended schools in the Franklin and Oxford area.
On Jan. 3, 1939, he married Alta Palmer in the Logan LDS temple.
Mr. Durrant was a truck driver in the Idaho-Montana area. In 1942 they moved to Jerome where he operated a bulk plant and service station and was a contract milk hauler. In 1969 they came to Pocatello and Mrs. Durrant has been employed at Garrett Freightlines.
He was an active member of the 20th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Elders Quorum president, first counselor in the bishopric, stake clerk, secretary of the high priests quorum and filled a mission in the East Central states.
He enjoyed camping and boating with the family.
Survivors include his widow, Pocatello; four sons, Thomas Gordon and S. Dean, all of Pocatello, and Larry, serving a mission for the LDS church in Holland; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Anne) Sullivan, Nampa, and Mrs. Rodney (Marlene) Jenks, Pocatello; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Durrant, Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. Andy (Lucy) Hansen, Magna, Utah; and Nettie Okerrnan, Idaho Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the LDS 20th Ward chapel with Bishop Kay Hampton officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Manning Funeral Chapel.
