Mr. Duplechin was a native of Church Point and a resident of Sunset for most of his life. He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Mr. Duplechin later retired as a field supervisor from B.F. Trappey's Canning Co. in Lafayette. His greatest joy was being home with his loving wife and family. He enjoyed gardening, dancing to Cajun music and bar-b-quing for his family. Mr. Duplechin's quiet, gentle loving presence will be sadly missed by his family.
Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Rosa Marie Boudreaux Duplechin, of Sunset; two daughters, Judy Billiodeau and her husband, Jon, and Debra Horn and her husband, John, all of Sunset; two grandchildren, Jed Lance Billiodeau and Holly Marie Horn; two sisters, Curnis D. Hebert, of Lafayette, and Mary D. Migl and her husband, Eugene, of Scott; and a sister in law, Betty Duplechin, of Church Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Batiste "J.B." Duplechin and the former Alfreda Benoit; and one brother, Percy Duplechin.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
