FUNERAL RITES TUESDAY
FOR ORONOKO RESIDENT.
Funeral services were held at the
Methodist church in Hinchman Tuesday
afternoon for the late Howard Boal, 68,
a life long resident of Oronoko township
and well known in this community. Mr.
Boal died Sunday morning at his home
near Hinchman after a year's illness.
Rev. R. W. Merrill, pastor of the
Hinchman and Berrien Springs
Methodist churches, officiated
at the funeral services and burial
was in Salem cemetery.
Casket bearers were Howard Wellington,
Walter Wellington, Joe Ewalt, Myron
Sattler, Cephas Tobias and Chester
Williams. Mrs. Paat Iannelli of
Benton Harbor presided at the piano.
Mr. Boal was the son of Mr. and Mrs.
John Boal, pioneer residents of this
vicinity. He is survived by a son
and two daughters, Francis Boal and
Mrs. Ruth Stevens of Hinchman and
Mrs. Helen Webber of Hammond, Ind.
There are three grandchildren, one
brother, E. [Ells] A. Boal of Hinchman
and two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Wormer
of Niles and Miss Nettie Boal of
Kalamazoo. His wife died 20 years ago.
