He returned to God on June 22, 1997.
Sidney, age 70, was born on September 24, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and June Kelson and siblings, Roger and Betty.
He leaves a sister, Elouise Alderidge of Kearns.
Sidney graduated from Cyprus High School in 1944.
He joined the Navy, also in 1944, where he was a boxer.
He worked for Kennecott Copper and retired in 1980.
In October 1947, he and Ila Gene Greening were married.
They divorced in 1985.
Together they had four beautiful daughters, Susan K. Thompson, Rosanne Kallas, Sandra Lee Petersen, Jeana Marie Gardner; and a son, Scott Eugene Kelson.
He was a loving grandfather to his grandsons, Brandon Owen, David E. Kallas, Garon Petersen, Eric Kelson, Brandt Gardner, Zackorij Gardner; and his granddaughters, Jolynn Owen, Jaime Blake, Dustin Kallas, Shanna Nicholson, Nichole Sykes, and Amanda Kelson.
Sidney also had nine great-grandchildren, Devin, Chase, Breanna, Shelly, Olivia, Alexander, Riddix, Zarien, and Taron.
He had many other relatives who cared for and loved him.
His love for his family was greater than most knew or understood.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South.
The family will receive friends prior to the services from 12-2 p.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South.
