Mrs. Janie Louise Fisher Smithson, age 73, entered into eternal rest Friday, October 2, 2009, at Heritage Medical Center.

Funeral services at First Christian Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Reverend Bryan Elliott will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.

She was born February 28, 1936, in Bedford County, to the late Tommy Lee and Willie Sanders Fisher.

She was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Bell South. She also held membership in the Town and Country Garden Club and Daughter of the American Revolution.

She always saw the best in other people and brought out the best in them. She was never in a room of strangers, but only people she had not met yet.

She was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee and after a stint in the Navy serving her country, she returned. She was always willing to volunteer whether it was at a local school, civic or church function. She was an active member of First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Lee Jorgenson and James Robert Jorgenson. A brother, James Fisher and a sister, Lucille Blessing, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Albert Lee Smithson, of Shelbyville; two sons, Cliffton Gene Jorgenson, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and David Michael Jorgenson, and his wife Kat, of Tullahoma, Tennessee; a daughter, Kathy Lynn Reed, and her husband, Johnny, of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren, Rachel Rose Jorgenson Livesay, and her husband, Josh, of McMinnville, Tennessee, Collin Jorgenson, and his wife Lisa, Ashley Reed, Tripp Reed, Stephen Jorgenson, and Rebecca Jorgenson, all of Shelbyville, Dakota Bowen and Amanda Bowen, both of Tullahoma; four great grandchildren and one brother, Robert Fisher.
