Leona Bauknecht
Leona Louise Bauknecht, 79, of Bellview Heights, Bellaire, died Sunday in Erie Pa. She was born Feb. 2, 1898 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary O. Applegarth Meeker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Bellaire, Eastern Star, Chapter 194 of which she was a Past Priestess, the Mary Kelly Club, Pen Talfa Club, Holly Twig and the Belmont Hills Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Bauknecht Sr., Feb. 12, 1972, and three sisters.
Surviving are one son, Walter C. Bauknecht Jr. of Bellaire; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Marjorie) Brandt of Erie; one sister, Mrs. Edna Vogt, Bellaire and six grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Walter C. Bauknecht and Son Funeral Home, Bellaire after 7 p.m. this evening, where services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. A. Boyd Keys officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire. Eastern Star services will be conducted Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
