Gesualda was the daughter of Arsenio and Maria Giovanna "Fina" Pernetti. She was born in Sala Consilina, Province of Salerno, Kingdom of Italy. She came to the United States sometime in the 1880's. Her maternal grandparents were Guiseppe and Gesualda "Almonte" Fina. She was named after her mother's mother. Some of her known siblings were: Biagio (1863-1937, Rosina, Michele and Antonetta "Pernetti" Palladino. Antonetta is buried in the same plot as Gesualda, but her name was not engraved on the headstone. All were married in Manhattan, New York. Quite a few of the Pernetti family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1912. They are buried at Forest Lawn in Glendale, CA, including her brother Biagio, his wife and their children.
Gesualda Pernetti married Vincenzo Grosso on February 11th, 1897, in Manhattan, New York. They had at least one son Ernesto "Ernest" Grosso, born on May 18, 1899 in Manhattan, NY. They moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for some time, and lived with Ernesto, his wife Helen and oldest grandson Vincent Grosso. Gesualda's grandchildren were Vincent John, Loretta and Ernest "Babe" Grosso, all born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Gesualda and her husband later moved back to New York.
She is buried with her parents.
