Death of Amos W. Meadows

Amos W. Meadows, 83, of Elkton, died Thursday morning at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Meadows was born March 26, 1881 in Page County and was the son of the late Alex and Susie Breeden Meadows.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Shifflett, of Elkton; six sons, Joseph C., Albert M., Lloyd E., James A. and Alonzo P. Meadows, all of Elkton, and Irvin E. Meadows, of Nechez, Texas; 24 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Lam, of Pennsylvania; Mrs. Ellen Collier, and Mrs. Carrie Meadows, both of Elkton, and Mrs. Alfred Meadows, of Shenandoah, and five brothers, Delbert Meadows, of Elkton; Hildon, Walter, and Charles Meadows, all of Timberville; and Grover Meadows, of Winchester.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Jolletts Methodist Church with the Rev. John I. Collins and the Rev. Mark Minninger officiating. Burial took place in the Jolletts Cemetery.
