SPRINGFIELD - Beverly Dianne Brown Collingwood, 74, of Springfield, died at Lewis Memorial Christian Village on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 12:05 a.m.

She was born September 4, 1935, in Taylorville, IL, to Wallace William and Vivienne June Huggins Brown, who have preceded her in death.

She graduated from Taylorville High School in 1953, where she played the oboe in the band and had been a majorette. Beverly moved to Springfield, where for 42 years she was a paralegal for Heckenkamp, Simhauser and Zerkle. She attended the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and was a Toastmistress, where she received national awards.

Beverly is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Collingwood Molen of Springfield; a son, Stephen Collingwood of Springfield; grandchildren, George Patrick Doan VI, Megan Doan, Lindsay Molen, and Caleb Molen.

Her family will greet friends on Friday, October 16, from 5-7 p.m. at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, where funeral services will be on Saturday, October 17, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
