Laura Adams married Charlie Young on July 16, 1917 in Cherokee County, NC.

Laura Adams Young, 92, of Sardis Road, Asheville, died Wednesday in an Asheville hospital.

Mrs. Young was a native of Cherokee County and had lived in Buncombe County since 1928. She was a member of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Harvey and Sarah Martin Adams and the wife of Charlie R. Young, who died in 1971.

Surviving are three daughters, Christine Quarles and Caryl Holcombe, Betty Riddle, all of Asheville; two sons, Charles W. Young of Greenville, S. C., and Joe T. Young of Asheville; a sister, Frances Harmon of Andrews; a brother, John Adams also of Andrews; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The Rev. Nane Starnes will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. Friday at the funeral home, and at other times will be at the home of Christine Quarles in 27 Berry Hill Drive in Asheville.

Memorials may be made to the Eliada Home for Children or a charity.
