Anna grew up in Ohio. Around age 21, Anna left Ohio for uncharted new horizons in Texas, establishing herself in Houston. Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Leland Duane "Lee," and married him in 1951. As the wife of an Air Force officer, they lived in Houston, Rapid City SD, and Spokane WA. After Lee's time in the Air Force came to an end, Anna and Lee resided in Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Anna always believed in following Lee wherever his career might take him. They retired in South Carolina residing in a lakeside home they had specially constructed. Anna enjoyed cooking, creating and making clothes for herself and others, preparing meals for shut-ins, playing competitive bridge, and traveling with Lee.

Anna raised two sons, Leland Dean of California and Duane Lee of Illinois. She is survived by Lee, her sons, her daughter-in-law, Cheryl, and grandsons, Corey and Evan.

Anna loved and adored her family. Hearing her speak of her family members was always extra special.

After Anna's passing, Lee had added to the monument, "Happiness Is Being Loved By Anna."
