R. W. Duncan Dies After Seven Weeks' Illness

Raymond W. Duncan, 46, a resident of Albion for the past twenty-one years, passed away at the Richland Memorial hospital Thursday morning at 7:05. He had been a patient in the hospital since the day before Christmas.

Funeral services were conducted from the First Methodust church, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Raymond Clodfelder, the pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Daulty Mason, Albion business houses closed during the funeral hour.

Mr. Duncan, who was born in White county April 2, 1908, came to Albion in 1934 as manager of the Kroger store. Endowed with a personality that made and held friends, he was one of the most widely known men of the community. Two years ago he accepted a position as grocery manager at Wib's Food store which position he held at the time of his death.

At an early age he became a member of the West Union Presbyterian church in White County, later transferring to the First Methodist in Mt. Vernon. After moving to Albion, he transferred his membership to the First Methodist church.

He was married Auguat 6, 1933 to Madeline Van Velson.

Surviving are his devoted wife, a daughter, Sharon, a member of the senior class at Edwards Senior High. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Lottie Van Velson, who made her home with the Duncan family, and two brothers, Bob of Brownville and J. C. Duncan of Gardenia, Calif.

Interment was at Graceland.
