YOUNG FRESNAN LOSES LIFE IN LUZON FIGHTING
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Lord, 2928 Van Ness Boulevard, were notified late yesterday afternoon their youngest son, PFC Levern E. Lord, 19, was killed in action February 12th in Luzon. The youth was a member of the infantry and was attached to the 11th Airborne Division which had fought previously at Cavite and Nichols Airfield.

He was a graduate of the Fresno High School and entered the service November 20, 1943. He was trained at Camp Roberts and subsequently went to New Guinea for the additional training. He also fought through the Leyte campaign before going to Luzon. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, both in the service, and a sister, Jodell, 12.

ONE BROTHER IS ON LEYTE
Corporal Melvin E. Lord, 23, a brother, is a member of a signal battalion stationed on Leyte but the brothers never had been able to see each other overseas.
The other brother is Private First Class Donald E. Lord, 21, of the Marines, who has been stationed on Guam. His outfit recently has been fighting at Iwo Jima, but his parents believe he was not sent there.
