Edna Forsberg

Edna was born March 14, 1915 in Woodruff, Idaho. She was the oldest of three children born to Oliver Cromwell Howell and Ester Elnora Lundburg. Edna was raised in the family home located in Logan, Utah. She received her education in the Logan City Elementary and Logan High School. After graduation from high school, she went to work as a bookkeeper for the Lundburg Motor Company in Logan. During this time, she assisted her father in handling the business accounts and transactions for this business owned by her uncle Chub Lundberg (Wilford W. Lundberg). It was during this time that she became acquainted with a young returned missionary by the name of LeRoy Forsberg from Avon, Utah. After a pleasant courtship they were married on August 1, 1935 in the Logan Temple. During the first five years of their married life, they lived in Avon in the home referred to then as the Frank Rock home. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the family home on the Forsberg farm located a mile west across the Little Bear River in West Canyon. It was here that Roy and Edna raised their family of four boys and one girl. It was also here that many wonderful family memories were developed as they worked, played and prayed together. During the fifty plus years Edna and Roy lived on the farm in Avon, Edna took employment outside the home to help meet the financial obligations of running the farm and raising a family. A few of those businesses she worked for include: Bushnell Military Hospital in Brigham City, Tingwall's and Roskelley's, and Syl's Business Machines in Logan. In 1963, Roy and Edna bought a farm and moved to Dingle, Idaho. They remained there until returning to Avon in 1973. Edna has been active in the church all her life. She has held many church positions. Her positions as chorister and choir leader in both the Avon and Paradise wards being her special callings, due to her love of music. Roy and Edna experienced a wonderful married life together. After Roy's death Edna remained on and directed the affairs of the farm. She was a wonderful cook, a loving mother and has spent many hours of her life caring for and serving others. She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Denzil Kay Forsberg; her parents; one sister, Maye Howell Thomas; and one brother, Jay Carl Howell. She is survived by her three sons: Wilford LeRoy (Sherrie) Forsberg "Serving an LDS mission in Tonga, South Pacific"; Gene Ernest (Gayle) Forsberg; Lynden Clell (Linda) Forsberg; and one daughter Carlene (Lynnis) Parkinson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Paradise 2nd/3rd Ward Chapel, 9060 South 200 West. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
