"Orin Curtis, (Tony), was the youngest of nine children of Amanda Ellen Work and Richard Henry Purdue.

Orrin married Edith about 1930. They had one daughter in 1933.

Orrin died in 1936 at age 27. He was working at the Crown Pottery factory and was eating at the cafeteria. He asked for some soda and before they could bring it to him, he died. According to Aunt Alene's verbal history, which indicated he died because of "acute indigestion."

In the 1930 census, Edith was listed as working in the cigar factory and he was listed as working in a warehouse.

He was 16 in the 1920 census for Vanderburgh, IN, and was listed as living at home with his mother and father and working in the pottery factory. His older sister, Mabel (18), also worked in the cigar factory and his two older brothers, Henry Raymond (27) and Russell (21) were listed as painters in the buggy factory."
