Jean Aimee Tharaldson Gates, 79 of Benton, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008.
She was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Starbuck, Minn., to Ole and Alice Olson Tharaldson.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Irene Kowitz; brother-in-law, Robert Olson; and sister-in-law, June Tharaldson preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Hiram Gates Jr. of Benton; a son, Paul Gates and wife Ann of Faribault, Minn.; a daughter, CaryAn Dearing and husband Cole of Chandler, Ariz.; two sisters, Marjorie Olson of Mora, Minn., and Vicky Hegman and husband Jay of Lino Lakes, Minn.; seven brothers, Omer Tharaldson of Minneapolis, Minn., Ernie Tharaldson and wife Kathi of Graceville, Minn., Harbee Tharaldson and wife Sandy of Story, Wyo., Donovan Tharaldson and wife Marlene of New London, Minn., Delan Tharaldson of Minneapolis, Minn., Lynn Tharaldson and wife Rosie of Lakeville, Minn. and Lon Tharaldson and wife Ruth of Belle Plain, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Janice Ross and husband Duane of Ocean Park, Wash.; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Kowitz of Clear Lake, Minn.; 44 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at First Lutheran Church, 18181 I-30 in Benton, with Pastor James Burns officiating.
Funeral service will be conducted at East Zion Lutheran Church in Starbuck, Minn. Burial will follow in East Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Starbuck.
