RUSSELL — Mrs. Lucretia Hunter Russell passed peacefully to rest at her home in Russell, Pennsylvania, May 25, 1921, after an illness of over three years. She was born in Vermont (sic) August 14, 1834, and was converted at the age of sixteen. In 1852 she was united in marriage to T. J. Russell of Russell, Pennsylvania. "Over forty years ago she heard the third angel's message preached and accepted it, ever since remaining a firm and loyal believer. She was an earnest Christian woman, zealous for the cause, spending all the time she could in canvassing for books and magazines and distributing literature. She was the mother of a large family, her husband and five others having preceded her in death. The funeral services were, conducted at her home, the text being one she had selected, "I have fought a good fight ... I have kept the faith," etc. She leaves three sons, two daughters, eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, "Blessed in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." I. A. WILLIAMS. -- Obituary published in "Columbia Union Visitor", Vol. 26, No. 39, Mount Vernon, Ohio, October 6, 1921. page 6.
