Glenn A. "Jack" Wasen, 94, of Ashland died Sunday evening, Oct. 11, 2009, at Belmont Tower.

He was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Russia Township near Oberlin to Walter E. and Edna M. Hoeh Wasen.

A veteran of the United States Navy, he served as an aviation metalsmith first class during World War Il.

He was a resident of Ashland since 1974, coming here from Sandusky. He was a retired production coordinator for NASA Glenn Center and NASA Plumbrook in Cleveland.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland, a 32nd degree Mason and a member and past master of Brooklyn Masonic Lodge 454 for more than 60 years. He was a past member of East Ohio United Methodist Discipleship Board from 1972 to 1976. He also had served as chairman of the administrative board of Columbus Avenue United Methodist Church in Sandusky for four years.

On May 25, 1940, he married Evelyn H. Wickha. She died May 30, 1994. They were married 54 years.

On Dec. 5, 1997, he married Opal A. Mullins, who survives.

He also is survived by two sisters, Wilma (John) Lloyd of Parma and Janet Oriold of North Royalton.

In addition to his parents; three brothers, Harold, Robert and Edwin; and a sister, Marian Sapp, all preceded him in death.
