Marvin James Barling of Velma born April 17 1916 in
Dixon Co. Neb. to Henry and Analia Lessman Bartling, died Jan. 21 2001 in Duncan at the age of 84.

He married Opal Browder on Jan 9, 1943 in Duncan.

He was a resident of Velma for 57 years.

He was a World War 11 veteran serving in the European Theater of
Operations for 19 months.

Survivors include his wife of the home, a daughter and son-in-law
Judy and Kenny Sanner of Velma, four sons and three daughters- in-
law Jess and Kathy Bartling, Jerry and Lola Bartling, Jack and
Brenda Bartling, all of Velma, and Jim Bartling of Hastings, three
sisters, Loretta Voss, Arzetta Dittman, and Clara Heckans, all of
Nebraska, two brothers, Rallie Bartling and Hank Bartling, both of
Cameron Neb., 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond and
Clarence Bartling and a sister Irene Bartling. Funeral services were
held in the Countyline Baptist Church with Rev. Reggie Creekmore
officiating.

Burial was in the Claude Cemetery under the direction of Milburn
Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
