Heaven got a little better when Petronillo (Pat) Morales Martinez, 83, passed away on April 20, 2009, in San Bernardino, Calif. with his family at his side.

He was born May 2, 1926. Pat resided in Blythe for many, many years with his wife, Dora Martinez.

Pat was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was very strong at heart at all times. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and went out of his way to put a smile on your face.

He enjoyed gardening at home as well as for other people. Gardening was a huge part of his life and what he enjoyed doing; he had a very high passion for this. Every summer he would fix his own little garden and grow his own vegetables, every year.

Pat was involved in the Catholic Church every Sunday. He would attend church and help with the basket collection donation at the church.

Every December he would help walk the Virgin Mary from the church to Todd Park and back.

Pat was a very involved father, husband and grandfather, who loved and cared for all. He will be deeply missed by all but it is understood that he is now in a better place and that the Lord needed him more.

Pat is survived by his wife, Dora Martinez; two daughters, Jessie Luviano of Blythe and Elvia Ruiz (Rafa) of Palm Springs, Calif.; four grandchildren, Tony Cisneros (Sarah) of Blythe, Gilbert Soto (Lorena) of Palm Springs, Veronica Ruiz of Calimesa, Calif., and Marisela Cisneros of Blythe; seven great-granchildren, Angelica Cisneros, Aliyah Soto, Jazmine Espinoza, Nathaniel Creth, Makayla Cisneros, Danika Cisneros, and Nathalia Creth.

Visitation for Pat will be May 4 from 4-8 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary. Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with burial following at Palo Verde Cemetery.

The family will be having a gathering in remembrance of Pat with the location to be announced.

Donations can be made to the family to aid in burial expenses.
