OBITUARYLOGAN – Kenneth Birch, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 incident to age. He was born on November 4, 1912 in Vernal, Utah the fifth son of Charlotte Hussey and Heber Birch. Dad was the only remaining member of this family.

Ken married Violet Miller from Bear River City on February 23, 1938. They had three sons. During WWII they lived in Oregon working as welders in the ship yards. They stayed a couple of years before moving back to Bear River City. They bought a farm in Corinne and worked together on the Farm for several years while raising their family. They were later divorced.

During his farming career Dad worked odd jobs to make extra money. During the construction of the railroad tressell across the Great Salt Lake he was employed as a welder by Morris and Knudsen Co. during the winters from 1955 thru 1957.

Dad farmed and worked as a warehouseman at the Defense Depot Ogden, (DDO) for several years. Eventually selling his farm and continued to work at DDO until he retired in his early 70's. It was during this time that he married Annabelle Kendall from Roy. They enjoyed many activities together including fishing and camping with family. They spent 15 years as snowbirds, spending the winter months in Quartsite, Arizona with many friends. Dad was the last surviving member of this group.

He was preceded in death by his second wife Annabelle, his parents, and brothers and sisters: Irene, Elvin, Cecil, Azie, Effie, Archie, Gilda, and Reva.

He is survived by his three sons: Kenneth (Margaret) Birch, Perry; Kay (Bebe) Birch, San Diego; and Richard (Kathy) Birch, Hyrum; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City.
Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
