He was born March 8, 1935, in Apalachicola, Fla., a son of Medie M. and Ollie Neal Crawford. He was married April 15, 1960, in Andrews, S.C., to Virginia M. Lacy, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of Andrews High School and an Air Force veteran. He worked in the cutting department at California Manufacturing Co. from 1961 to 1980, and was foreman of the cutting room from 1980 until his retirement in 1999.
Other survivors include: one son, Steve Crawford, Bonnots Mill; two daughters, Cathy Scheperle, Lohman, and Jackie Brown, California; one brother, Earl Crawford, Andrews; one sister, Shirley Brouillard, Englewood, Fla.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Infant twin sons preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, California. The Rev. David Nicholson will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
