Anthony Francis Abela passed away peacefully on October 9, 2009 at the age of 85.


Beloved husband of Theresa Abela; loving father of Joseph, Louis and Carlos Abela; son of John and Marianna Abela; brother of Charles Abela, Louisa Camilleri, and the late Nancy Schembri and baby Charles Abela; father-in-law of Steve (Victoria) Moran and their son Joseph; and survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives.


Anthony was a foreman cabinet maker for his entire career. He served in the Navy, Armed Guard during WWII and more recently volunteered on the Jeremiah O'Brien in San Francisco Bay.


Family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 3:00-9:00 p.m. and are invited to attend the Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church, 459 Somerset, corner of Wayland & Somerset Streets, San Francisco.
Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
