Della Cunningham, 82, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at Avera Prince of Peace Nursing Home, Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00am Friday, October 16, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Sioux Falls with burial in St. Christina Catholic Cemetery, Parker. Visitation will be on Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00pm Thursday evening.
Della May Jones was born on September 16, 1927 near Parker, SD to Lev and Irene (Rothans) Jones. She grew up near Parker where she graduated from Parker High School in 1945.
On May 21, 1946 she was united in marriage to Earl Cunningham. They farmed in the Parker area until moving to Sioux Falls in 1971. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Alter Society. Her husband Earl died in 1988.
Grateful for having shared her life are 8 children; John, Atlanta, GA, Phyllis (Wayne) Arends, Canistota, Margaret Cunningham, Sioux Falls, Mary (Jim) Lindenberg, Rockford, IL, Lois (Kat) Tanaka, Omaha, NE, Charles (Mary), Albuquerque, NM, James (Alisa) Rapid City, and Rosemary (Jim) Callahan, Sioux Falls; 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Norman Jones and Ray Jones, both of California, and Harold "Tom" (Marion) Jones, Arizona; and a sister Irma (Tony) Armagno, Montrose.
