Robert R. Malone, 86, of Decatur, IN passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at his son's residence. Bob was born October 12, 1925 in Sullivan, Indiana to the late William and Fayola (Grimes) Malone. On January 30, 1949 he married Sarah L. Downs. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2002.

Bob was a Life Insurance Salesman for Western Southern. He served in World War II in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #43 past commander and a 2000 Hall of Fame inductee for the United States Bowling Congress.

Survivors are a son Barry (Cindi) Malone of Decatur, a daughter-in-law Carol Malone of Decatur and a brother Paul Malone of Warrenton, VA; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons Robert L. and David P. Malone and a brother William Malone.

Calling is from 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 and 1 hour prior to services at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with Military Graveside rite by American Legion Color Guard.

Memorials are to ACCF Angel Cancer Fund.
