Clayton David Scott, 42, of Rt 2, Meadows of Dan, VA, died Tuesday, May 26, 1964 at the Veterans Hospital at Roanoke, VA, where he had been a patient one week. He was a carpenter, a veteran of World War II and was born in Patrick County, VA. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Edra Bowman Scott, a son, Ted Wayne Scott, and three daughters, Donna Sue, Peggy Lou and Tracy Lynn Scott, all of the home; three brothers, Taylor Scott of Meadows of Dan, Verna Scott of Ararat, VA, and Baily Scott of Winston-Salem, NC; and four sisters, Mrs. Walter Cheek and Mrs Woodrow Moser of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Roy Allen of Rural Hall, NC. and Mrs. Roy Brissenden of Newport News, VA. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday, Reed Island Springs Baptist Church, the Rev. Charlie Simmons, the Rev. Layton Puckett and the Rev. W. J. Banks, burial in the church cemetery.
