Born Sept. 2, 1919, in Browning to Jesse and Belle Cooper Prunty, he married JoAnne Kinsall on Oct. 9, 1957, in Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, William C. "Chuck" of Peoria; one daughter, Debbie Anthony of Dunlap; one stepdaughter, Rita A. Matheny of Peoria; one brother, Fred of Moline; four sisters, Jessie Wiggins and Iva Chockley, both of Rushville, Hazel Dean of Kirkwood and Julie Allen of Camden; two stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc. in Mapleton for 19 years, retiring in 1982. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. The Rev. James M. Sandy will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cumerford- Endsley Memorial Home in Peoria.
