Sue was married to W. E. Sirman for several years. Two sons were born, Hugh Phillip Sirman in Trinity County and Vernon Elmer Sirman in Liberty County.
On the 1920 US Census for Harris County, Texas, Sue was enumerated as divorced with her two sons. She was in the home of her mother and was working as a waitress at this time.
Sue married James Thomas Roberts on January 7, 1920. One daughter, Jimmie Lee Roberts was born. Sue and her family continued to live in Houston where they were active in the Baptist Church and involved with their children and grandchildren.
Sue died at the age of 76, and is buried next to her beloved husband, James Thomas Roberts in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas.
