Services for Cleve Hendrix Bailey, Jr., were Wed., July 13, 2005, at Leflore Baptist Church in Leflore, with Rev. Larry Livingston officiating and Rev. Billy Blakely assisting. Burial was at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Carroll County with Williams and Lord Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Military rites were performed by the American Legion Post 29.

Mr. Bailey, 74, of Leflore, died Sun., July 10,2005, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital of heart failure. He was a retired member of the U.S. Army. He was a retired building service director. He was a member of Leflore Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary France "Susie" Blakely Bailey of Leflore; his daughter, Maria Smitherman of Leflore; his sons, Irby Bailey of Grenada, Terry Bailey and Cleve H. Bailey III, both of Leflore, and John Thomas Bailey of Cardova; his sister, Thelma Luper of Brandon; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
