Geraldine Geneva Mobley Hudgins, also known as Mother, Mamaw, Honey, Gerry, was born in Peachland, Oklahoma, on May 24, 1919. She married Richard Earl Hudgins June 2, 1937, in Longview where she was working for the telephone company.
She and Earl had three children; Richard Hudgins and wife LeNeil Flemister Hudgins, Judy Lamb and husband Henry, and Julia Landis, who remain to cherish her memory. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a very special nephew, Jim Mobley. She leaves three generations of “Mobberly kids” from having taught preschoolers for seventy-two years at Mobberly Baptist Church.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018, in The Crossing at Mobberly Baptist Church with Dr. Gregg Zackary and Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Whispering Pines Lodge for the tender loving care she received there.
Memorial may be made in her memory to the new preschool building at Mobberly Baptist Church, 625 E. Loop 281, Longview, TX 75605.
