R. A. Metcalf, 33, of Tyler, Tex., died at 4:15 pm. Friday in Veterans Hospital, where he had been a patient one week. He was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Smith County, Texas. He was in the Army six years. Relatives include his parents Mr. and Mrs. James B. Metcalf of Tyler; his wife, Mary; three children: a brother; and four sisters. Callahan Funeral Home will send the body to Tyler for last rites.
