William H. “Bill” Brumley, 69, Springfield, died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday in Cox Medical Center South after a short illness. A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Brumley retired in 1988 after being a plumber for 46 years. He was a member of Plumbers’ Union Local No. 178 for 53 years and was also a member of Springfield Solomon Masonic Lodge No. 271, About Ben Adhem Shrine and Clown Unit. He is survived by a son, Mike; a daughter, Brenda Funkhouser; three grandchildren, Melyssa and Grand Brumley and Holly Funkhouser; a brother, Chester, all of Springfield; and several nephews. Graveside services with Masonic rites will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Springfield National Cemetery. The body has been cremated under direction of Klingner Mortuary.
