DURR
In 1872 John (1828-1905) and Diana (Larkin)
Durr (1835-1913) with their family of five sons and
one daughter, moved to McGillivray from Sunni-
dale, Ontario. John Durr was born in Charleston,
South Carolina. Their family was James (Mar-
tha Snowden), John (Emma Reader), Alfred
(Annie Baynham), Emma (William Mawson),
Thomas (Emma Turner) and George ·(Lottie).
Their third son, Alfred (1860-1927) and Annie
Baynham (1858-1931) resided in McGillivray and
raised three sons and two daughters: Walker (Au-
gusta Windsor), Ernest (Laura Smithers), John
(Florence Gray), Emma (Richard Smith), and
Louella (Charles Finkbeiner). Walker and Augusta
raised two sons in McGillivray, Lloyd and Nor-
man. Norman and his wife, Ila (Hotson) lived in
Toronto. Lloyd and Shirley (Harrison) Durr live
at Lot 14 Con. 18. They have a daughter Heather,
married to Geoffrey Rennison of Delaware.
