Eva Mae Williams, 102, of Fort Worth and formerly of Oplin, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at a Fort Worth hospice.
Service: 1 p.m. Friday at Oplin Baptist Church, the Rev. H.B. Terry officiating. Burial: will follow in Oplin Cemetery. Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.
Mrs. Williams was born April 7, 1907, near Oplin to Thomas W. Breeding and Mary D. Clements Breeding. She grew up on the Breeding farm near Oplin. Eva joined the Baptist Church at Oplin in 1927. She married Alvah Arden Williams, March 8, 1928. Eva bore two children, Retha and James. Eva and Alvah farmed and raised livestock in Callahan County for 58 years, at which time health considerations forced them to move to Fort Worth where their son could care for them.
Survivors: Son, James A. Williams of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Heather A. Barker and husband, Charles, of Fort Worth; great-granddaughter, Fiona N. Barker of Fort Worth; sister, Lillian Lattimer of Abilene; brothers, W.C. Breeding of Clyde, Vernon Breeding and wife, Billie, of Abilene; sister-in-law, Mary E. Williams of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
