Carl D. Pickens, 49, North Sixth street, died at 1 .m. Tuesday at St. John's hospital. He entered the hospital last night, suffering from pneumonia. He had been ill only since Saturday. Mr. Pickens, who was employed by the Baker Manufacturing company, is survived by his wife, Mae; and his mother, Mrs. Mary Pickens, of this city. - Illinois State Journal, Springfield, IL, Tuesday, 2-25-1936
