Holly Hill - LaVance Parker Hughes, 45, died Wednesday at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Edward A. and Rachel Ziegler Hughes. He was an employee of Yeargin Construction Co.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hazel Moody Hughes; a daughter, Mrs. Tammie Lee Crownover of Holly Hill; three sons, Marion Parker, Van Rebel and LaVance Hughes Jr. of Holly Hill; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Belle O'Cain and Mrs. Marjorie Hancock of Orangeburg and Mrs. Juanita Wiles of Moncks Corner; two brothers, McDaniel Hughes of Orangeburg and Birgie [Virgil] Hughes of Holly Hill; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home, Orangeburg. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery.
