She was born March 30, 1946 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Franklin L. and Irene Eloise Warnick Marten. She married Gary Bruington on December 22, 1967 in Peoria IL. He survives.
Alice is also survived by her son Bret (Amy) Bruington of Galesburg; her daughter Angie (Marty) Powers of Galesburg; her father F.L. Marten of Farmersville, IL; two brothers Barry (Mabel) Marten of Williamsburg, VA, David (Ramona) Marten of Santa Barbara, CA; her sister Sherry Kalicak of Litchfield, IL; a brother-in-law Ted Bruington of Galesburg and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Eloise Marten, a sister-in-law Barbara Bruington and a brother-in-law Dan Kalicak.
She graduated from Lincolnwood High School in 1964 and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria IL. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday October 10, 2009 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Tim Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Mosher Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis-Dr. Dennis Garwacki in Peoria IL.
