"William Austin Hall, senior partner and founder of the architectural and planning firm, William Hall Partnership, died Wednesday. He was 81. Born in the small town of Holdenville, Oklahoma on March 5, 1923, he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oklahoma. From 1943-1946 he was a Navy Dive Bomber pilot attached to a carrier in the Pacific. He then earned a Master in City Planning degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was one of the earliest Fulbright Scholars to go to Germany after the war, studying at Technische Hoschshule, Karlsruhe, Germany. He began his own architecture and planning firm in 1959. Since then, his small firm has become one of the more competitive, vying with the best firms in New York City and the state.. . ."
