Enid, OK — The funeral for Dorthy Emerell "Hartman" Foster, 89, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at New Beginnings Wesleyan Fellowship, Ringwood. Pastor Dan Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Cleo Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Viewing will be 2-6 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and prior to service at the church.
She was born March 10, 1920, in Cambridge, Neb., to Elmer I. and Zola Crawford Hartman and died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Fairview Regional Medical Center.
She moved to this area at age 10. She married Bob Foster March 12, 1937, in Watonga.
She worked at Enid State School, retiring in 1980. She was a member of MARC Senior Center, Ringwood, Quilting Circle, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Ringwood New Hope Wesleyan Church. She also was a senior model for Dillard's Department Store, representing RSVP.
Surviving are nine children, Robert "Bobby" Joe Foster of Bison, Joan Jones of Marysville, Calif., Zola Vanbuskirk of Enid, Barbara Moore of Ringwood, Harvey Foster of Ringwood, Wanda Failes of Augusta, Kan., Jack Foster of Canton, Sharon Marin of Springtown, Texas, and Debra Foster of Ringwood; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, one son, one sister, nine brothers and two grandchildren.
