ALLENSVILLE - Lizzie M. Detweiler, 92, of HCR 61, Allensville, died at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at her residence. Born Oct. 13, 1908, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nancy (Hostetler) Hostetler. Her husband, Samuel Y. Detweiler, died Jan. 20, 2000. Surviving are: children, David H. Detweiler, Belleville, Noah W. Detweiler and Jesse A. Detweiler, both of Mill Creek, Joseph B. Detweiler, Samuel Y. Detweiler Jr., and Mrs. Jonas (Sarah) Zook, all of Allensville; brother and sisters, John A. Hostetler, Goshen, Ind., Mary Smith, Newton, Kan. and Mrs. Fred (Barbara) Slabaugh, Seford, Del.; 42 grandchildren, 135 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by an infant child; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Daniel (Sylvia) King; and two brothers, Aaron Hostetler and Jake Hostetler. She was a member of the Old Order Amish. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the Benuel Peachey residence, with Bishop Shem Swarey officiating. Interment will be in the Allensville Mennonite Amish Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at her late residence. Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, is in charge of arrangements.
