There is so much wrong with this right down to the grave marker because his name was not Alford, it was Alfred. That obviously cannot be changed. But his father was not Just Lindquist, it was Gustaf Pettersson, his mother was Anna Maria Johansdotter. He was born in Toarp, Sweden on May 14, 1856. We also can't change the obituary but his father did not die when he was a boy; his father died in 1875 in the same place where Alfred was born. His mother died in 1903. He took the name Lindquist for whatever reason and used the story about his father dying when he was a young boy as cover? I am a genealogist, Alfred was my 4th cousin. He married Mary Jane Adair on December 23, 1887.
Thanks.
