OBIT: Phillip Cline Parrett, 75, Near Cummings, Dies. Phillip Cline Parrett, 75, well known old-time fiddler of the Cummings neighborhood, died at 7 o'clock this morning [May 11] at his home south of Cummings. He had been seriously ill for the last few weeks and in failing health over a period of years. Mr. Parrett had lived most of his life in the Cummings neighborhood and had many friends in that vicinity. He was popular as an old-time fiddler and considered one of the best in northeast Kansas. Two daughters and several brothers and sisters survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon at the home. IN case of rain, the services will be held at the Mair chapel in Nortonville. Burial will be in the Cline Cemetery near Cummings. [Thanks to Dave Garrison for the obit!]
