John E. Ballew joined Co K 14th GA Regt, March 4, 1862 in Murray, GA. He was wounded at the battle of 2nd Manassas and died Oct 3. 1862 from complications from an amputated leg.
He was in the same outfit as his brother George E. Ballew whose name is on the wall instead of John's.
George died an old man Nov. 8, 1916 in Ft. Worth, TX having married and born 13 children. He is my Gr-Gr-Grandfather.
