Obituary of August 29, 1887 News & Courier

SUDDEN DEATH,- A sad death occurred yesterday afternoon at the corner of Coming and Spring Street, About 5 o'clock Dr. F. O. Alleman, who for some time past has kept a drug store on the above corner, suddenly dropped dead. Dr. Alleman, it is said, came here just after the war, having been a surgeon in the Union army. During his residence here he has been a practicing physician as well as a druggist. He was about 45 years of age, and leaves a wife, but no children.

Married 1st June 06, 1853, at Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., PA to Mary Baker Ogelsby. They had at least 7 children: Pheba J., Jessie Stella, Charles Robley, Mary D., Clarence Ogelsby, Hiram C. and Margaret Ogelsby Alleman. Mary died after 1870 and Frederick remarried to Frances Harriett Rodgers.
