MANCHESTER - Clarence S. Cram Sr. 68, of Manchester died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at his home. He was born in Augusta on Sept. 19, 1940, the son of Stanley Sr. and Rose (Ridley) Cram. He grew up in Manchester, attending Manchester schools and, later, Cony High School. Clarence met the love of his life, Polly McKechnie, on a date for horseback riding, and the two of them rode on to 48 years of marriage.
Mr. Cram was predeceased by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Polly Cram; his mother, Rose Cram; his sons, Clarence "Bug" Cram Jr., and his wife, Micky, of Manchester, David Cram and his wife, Caroline, of Manchester, and Vern Cram, of Manchester; his daughter, Lisa Mace and her husband, Peter, of Readfield; his brothers, Stanley Cram Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Manchester, Cecil Cram and his wife, Louise, of Manchester, and Keith Cram, of Augusta; his sisters, Lena Walker of Manchester and Roslie "Honey" Damon and her husband, Bob, of Auburn; his grandchildren, Nicole and David Mace, Sondra Thibodeau, and Jeremy Judkins; several great-grandchildren; and his sidekick, Shelby.
Relatives and friends may visit from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at North Manchester Meeting House. Burial will occur in Scribner Hill Cemetery. (Morning Sentinel Nov. 5, 2008)
