On March 1, 1925, John married Hattie Eula Benson. He worked several years for the railroad and also for Cains Coffee Company, retiring from there in 1965. He then served with the Bethany Police Force as a school crossing guard until 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eula, in 1978 and an infant daughter in 1929; as well a sister, Veneta Booth in 1971.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Martin, of Vallant, Oklahoma; a son, Rev. Charles Earl Wretling, of Atwood, Kansas; a sister, Grace Cook of Concordia, Kansas; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Yukon First Church of the Nazarene where he was a member.
