Gale was the youngest child of Elizabeth (Betsy) Terrell and John Preston Hart. He married Margaret Brummett in 1884. She was the d/o G.W. Brummett. They had 5 children:
James R, George P, Ellen Hart, Seberry Hart and Wm. Riley Hart. Gale's grave is just outside of the shelder, where his parents are buried. The road where Hart Cemetery is located is now named-Gail Hart Rd. The spelling of Gail Hart Rd. is incorrect but it was intended to be named after the person, Gale Hart. Gale always remained in the Meadow Creek vicinity. This area was once named for the Hart families: Hart school, Hart church and Hart Cemetery, all at Meadow Creek. The Hart school no longer exists and the church is now called Meadow Creek Baptist Church; however, the cemetery still remains as Hart Cemetery on Meadow Creek, at the end of Gail Hart Rd.
