Lee J. Brantley -SANDERSVILLE - Funeral services for Mr. Lee J. Brantley, age 71, will be held at 3P.M. Sunday at the Kendall Heights Church of God with interment to follow in the Orr Cemetery. Rev. Stacy Williford will officiate.

Born in Washington County, he was the son of Sarah Fowler Brantley and the late Othor Brantley. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections and was also a former police officer and firefighter. He was preceded in death by a son, the late Lee J. Brantley, Jr. and a grandson, Jason Tompkins. Mr. Brantley passed away early Friday morning at his residence following an extended illness.

He is survived, in addition to his mother, by his wife, Joan Brantley of Sandersville; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Tracey Brantley of Sandersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and David Peavy of Sandersville; five stepchildren and spouses, Laura Smith of Sandersville, Mandle and Susie Waters, Jimmy and Nancy Waters, Randy and Deborah Waters and Frank Waters all of Tennille; two brothers and sister-in-law, Frank and Ernestine Brantley and Randy Brantley; and a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and John Martin, all of Milledgeville; seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations, in memory of Mr. Brantley, to United Hospice of Swainsboro, 106 West Main Street, Swainsboro, GA 30401.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Smith, Glen Brantley, Wade Brantley, Tim Fowler, Ike Boyd, and David Peavy.
