Son of John and Frances Jane Hampton Campbell. Husband of May Alda Corbett Campbell. Father of Margaretta J. Campbell Hurd, Harry C. Campbell and Charles Campbell, Jr.
------------
Democrat [Clarion, Pa] March 7, 1929

When the word was sent out that Charles C. Campbell had died last Sunday evening, March 3, 1929, at 7:15 o'clock, it bore with the news a weight of sorrow to many hearts.

Mr. Campbell has been striving to recover good health for upwards of two years and has even submitted to two or more operations in the hospital to aid him. But in spite of all surgical and medical skill and the best possible care and attention, he gradually failed until he quietly slept when his spirit left its temple and returned to the God who gave it.

Mr. Campbell was born August 11, 1871 at Brady's Bend, Armstrong County, where his parents lived for some time when his father worked in the mines at that place. They afterwards moved to Clarion County and lived on a farm in Piney Township. Many years ago the family removed to Clarion which has since been the home of the deceased.

He was educated in the schools of Clarion, through his preparatory courses, but when he decided to follow the profession of architect and contractor he went to Ada, Ohio, where he completed the study of a course of preparation for that work. He then returned to Clarion and has since been active in his profession and business in which he, by his intelligent, straight forward and honorable dealings won the esteem and high regard of all. He was one of Clarion's most worthy citizens and successful business men.

On September 14, 1904, Mr. Campbell was united in marriage with Miss May Corbett, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jared Corbett. She survives him with one daughter, Miss Margaretta, and one son Harry C. Campbell, who now mourn the loss of a devoted and loving husband and father.

To them the profound sympathy of the community goes out. Mr. Campbell has been prominent in fraternal circles of Clarion, having been an active Past Master of Clarion Lodge, No. 277, F. & A. M. and Past High Priest of Eden Chapter, No. 259, R. A. M., as well as a member of Coudersport Consistory.

The deceased was of an upright life and was a Christian of splendid character. He was a member of the Episcopalian church.

His funeral was held at his late home on Wednesday, the religious services being conducted by the Rev. J. E. Hutchison of the First Presbyterian Church. At the meeting his brethren of Clarion Lodge of Masons observed their last rites as they committed his body to the tomb, the interment being made in Clarion Cemetery.
